Roadtripping-Amber

We're so anxious to get things ready for our trip.  Considering we plan to leave in September of 2016 we will probably be basket cases by the time it finally gets here.  Both Paula and my lifetime dreams are to travel the world.  I'm 35 years old this year and can't believe that I have never set foot out of the country.   I've never even seen the ocean (except once on Venice Beach in Los Angeles on Christmas when I was 17 and I was extremely ill and we stayed ten minutes).  I have been to many places in the USA compared to most of the people that I know, but it's still not enough.

I've been to Oklahoma(born and raised), Arkansas(raising my crew), Texas, Kansas, Colorado, New Mexico, California (LA area), Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana, Missouri, Iowa (and had the speeding ticket from Des Moines to prove it!), Minnesota.  Every place had something special and different about them.   I drove through most of them, because it's not only cheaper, but you can really see what a place is like when you have to spend half a day driving from one side of a state to another.

I can say I have driven through Amarillo, Texas multiple times and there's the smell of stockyards in the air from one side of the city to the other.  I've been told most people that live there can't smell it because they're used to it....I'm not used to it.....(Texans, don't be haters, this is my own personal experiences and opinions and I LOVE Texas or most of it.)   Crested Butte, Colorado in the wintertime is by far the most beautiful place I've ever been.  I get very nostalgic just thinking about that town.  There may be more towns just as beautiful, but I have yet to see them.

It's going to be a long three years, so I may go into details about where I've been and what I suggest to do if you ever get the chance to go.  We'll see.  Paula and I are for sure going to be doing some video posts on our mini-trips from around here.  I can promise, they'll be worth watching.
